I had every intention to write about my 2016 resolutions this week. But then I found them in my journal and, well, yuck!
Last year's goals were vague and subjective — all about feeling instead of doing. I wanted to be more independent and carefree, without offering any indication of what that would look like.
So for 2017, I'm getting more specific. These resolutions are a bit silly, and they're also designed to get my butt in gear on some long-term goals.
Hopefully by hitting it out of the park on these efforts, I'll be doing good and feeling good. Wish me luck!
1. Learn Spanish
I'm proud of my high school French, but I chickened out completely the one time I could have practiced on real-life Parisians. I'm going to turn my attention to Spanish now with the help of fluent friends.
2. Eat more avocado toast (and experiment with other classy foods)
I am the queen of burgers and french fries. Why don't I satisfy my desire to eat out all the time with more elegant options?
3. Self-publish a book
I have a few different ideas. Now, I just need to sit down and write!
4. Do not eat popcorn
If I'm going to see more than 30 movies in theaters each year, I need to break my addiction to movie snacks. Butter-drenched popcorn is one of my favorite foods, but it often hurts my tummy. No more!
